LCAC News

 

As you do your regular shopping, you are invited to pick up an item or two for the Louisville Christian Assistance Center and say a prayer for the folks who will receive it! Simple Idea… Many of us travel for work or vacation. As you stay in a motel/hotel, you are invited to pick up the complimentary hygiene items and bring them back for the LCAC.

 

The LCAC is always in great need of baby clothes, hygiene items such as shampoo, women’s deodorant, soap, and also Volunteers to work full or part time during the hours of 9a.m.-1p.m.

Partnering with the Society of St. Andrew, a big group from St. Mark's made a weekend trip to Fincastle, Virginia in October 2012 to glean apples and learn about poverty in the United States as well as around the world.

During the school year, the St. Mark's congregation gathers on Wednesday evenings for a fellowship meal, youth activities and choir practice.  Students from the SMILES After School Program join us for dinner.

The Great Green Bean Giveaway began with rinsing the beans.

An intergenerational group from St. Mark's made a 2014 spring break mission trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to repair damage left in the wake of Hurricane Irene.

The Shepherd's Staff Sunday School class presented an original play based on the Andy Griffith Show as they prepared to use the Mayberry Bible Study curriculum. Local Christian comedian Sammy Sawyer, aka Barney Fife, made a special appearance.
