Michael Johnsons Biography:

Dr. Michael Johnson has been married to Janet Whitehead, a gifted musician and teacher, for over 30 years. They have three sons, David age 21, Daniel age 20, and Stephen age 18.

After working for TVA from 1976-1981, a time in which he also completed a Master of Science degree in Health Education, Michael started seminary at the Candler School of Theology, Emory University, in 1981. He completed the Master of Divinity degree in 1984 and has served churches in Holston Conference for 26 years.

In 1995 Michael completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from the School of Theology, the University of the South, with an emphasis in Wesleyan Spirituality. In December 1999 he accepted a position as Chaplain and Bereavement coordinator with Covenant HomeCare. In December of 2000 he returned to the pastorate, and was appointed as pastor of St. Mark’s Church in June 2006.

He enjoys playing the guitar, jogging, bicycling, the lake, and working on his family’s farm in Soddy Daisy, TN.
